Dr. Mitch Browne B.Sc.(Hons.) M.Sc. M.D. F.R.C.S(C) is a board certified ophthalmologist, and fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
About Dr. Browne
After completing an undergraduate honors degree in biochemistry, Dr. Browne went on to pursue graduate studies with a focus on genomics and immunology. He then completed medical school at Memorial University in St. John’s, NL. Dr. Browne completed specialty training at the University of British Columbia with intern year at the Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria followed by ophthalmology residency training at UBC and Vancouver General Hospital.
Since completing his residency (FRCSC) training, Dr. Browne has practiced in the Okanagan region, Vancouver, and the lower mainland – but ultimately chose to settle in Victoria.
Dr. Browne has experience in comprehensive ophthalmology, eyelid surgery, cataract surgery and medical retina (anti-VEGF therapy, retinal lasers). He has several publications and international presentations. He is also involved with medical education as a clinical instructor, Faculty of Medicine UBC and University of Victoria.
